Xiaomi has launched the Smart TV 5A series in India, available in three sizes: 32-in, 40-in and 43-in. The two larger TVs have a Full HD display with over 16 million colors and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi’s Vivid Picture Engine enhances the image for improved contrast and depth.
The larger two TVs have built-in 24 W immersive speakers, with the 32-in model having a 20 W sound system. All models have Dolby Audio, and the two larger versions have DTS:X technologies to provide an immersive surround sound experience. A bezel-less design gives the gadget a 95.72% screen to body ratio.
The TV comes with Android TV 11, plus a universal search feature to help you find content to watch from over 30 streaming services, including Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube. The Mi Home app is also available on the gadget, allowing you to control other smart home devices.
A quad-core Cortex A55 chip powers the TV, with a GPU Mali G31 MP2, up to 8 GB storage and up to 1.5 GB of RAM. The device has multiple ports, such as two HDMI 2.0, two USB 2.0, Ethernet, AV input and an antenna connection point.
The Smart TV 5A is compatible with Chromecast and Google Assistant, so you can control the device using voice commands. Alternatively, you can use the Xiaomi remote control to adjust the TV.
The new Xiaomi TVs will go on sale in India on April 30th, with prices starting at Rs 15,499 (~US$202). You will be able to buy the devices from Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi stores across India. It is unclear whether or when the TVs will be available in other markets.
