Wyze has released the Garage Door Controller. Working with the Wyze Cam v3, the device enables you to control and view your garage remotely in the Wyze app. Other features of the gadget include notifications when the garage door is left open or if someone is trying to unlock it.
A log of the door opening and closing times is also available in the app. You can use the Wyze Cam v3 to stream real-time 1080p footage of your garage. Plus, you can schedule the door closing time, or the door can automatically close based on your location. The device comes with a QR code sticker that the camera uses with what Wyze describes as “AI vision-sensing” to detect if the door is open or closed. No other sensors are required for this setup.
The camera has a mini-siren that can deter intruders, Color Night Vision and can trigger smoke and carbon monoxide alerts. Wyze also suggests that the gadget will soon be compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, enabling you to control the device with voice commands.
According to Wyze, the gadget is an adapter that works with most garage doors from brands including Chamberlin and LiftMaster; the company claims that the device is easy to install in minutes. You can now buy the Wyze Garage Door Controller in the US for US$18.99 or as a package with the Wyze Cam v3 for US$39.99.
