Xiaomi OLED Vision 55 Smart TV arrives with Android TV 11, Dolby Vision IQ, 8 speakers and a 4K OLED panel
The first OLED Vision Smart TV is here, having leaked earlier this month. As expected, Xiaomi's latest TV features HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision IQ support, a new standard for HDR content. Supposedly, Dolby Vision IQ improves HDR images by combining information from a TV's ambient light sensor and Dolby Vision metadata to adjust brightness when needed dynamically.
Theoretically, Dolby Vision IQ should allow the OLED Vision Smart TV to reproduce brighter HDR content in a bright room, for example. Currently, the OLED Vision Smart TV series only extends to a 55-inch option, which also outputs at 4K and 60 Hz. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not stated how bright the OLED Vision 55 gets yet.
Still, the OLED Vision 55 includes IMAX Enhanced and MEMC technologies, plus a 4.6 mm thick frame and a 30 W speaker system comprised of eight drivers. Additionally, Xiaomi equips the OLED Vision 55 with an SoC containing four ARM Cortex-A73 CPU cores and a Mali G52 MC1 GPU, which it complements with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Elsewhere, the OLED Vision 55 relies on Android TV 11, which provides access to over 5,000 applications.
The Xiaomi OLED Vision 55 will retail for INR 89,999 (~US$1,174) in India, where it will be orderable from May 19. Xiaomi has not commented on an international launch yet, although it sells TVs in other markets, including Europe.
