The SwitchBot Pan/Tilt indoor security camera has a physical shutter for improved privacy
Wonderlabs has launched a new indoor smart home security camera, the SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam. The gadget features a 1080p HD camera with two motors that enable it to rotate 360° horizontally and up to 115° vertically. Plus, eight infrared sensors allow the camera to capture video in low lighting.
The smart camera has a two-way audio feature, allowing you to talk to anyone in the room; SwitchBot suggests that you could use this to check on family members and pets or to deter intruders. When the camera detects motion, an app notification is triggered to your connected smart device, where you can also watch the captured video.
A privacy mask ensures that the camera’s lens retreats inside its housing, behind a physical shutter, so you aren’t recorded when you are at home. You can automate this process by connecting the camera to a motion detector, like the SwitchBot Contact Sensor.
The smart security camera works with Amazon Alexa, allowing you to use voice commands to control the gadget. The gadget measures 6.26 x 4.09 x 3.94-in (~15.90 x 10.39 x 10.01 cm) and can be mounted on the ceiling. You can now buy the SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam in the United States for US$39.99.
