Roborock has started to roll out a new feature to its devices, Off-Peak Charging. The tool, released to celebrate World Earth Day, enables you to set your robot vacuum to charge during off-peak hours. You need to manually input the times based on what is defined as off-peak by your energy provider; for example, in the UK, you might set the robot to charge only between 00:00 and 05:00 AM.
Roborock suggests that this tool could help you save money on your energy bills and reduce your CO2 impact. You simply need to activate the feature in the Roborock app for a compatible gadget. A backup for this setting enables your vacuum to charge at any time if it runs out of battery mid-clean.
The feature is currently available on the S7 MaxV, which launched earlier this month. The off-peak charging feature is included in the latest update for the robot. As previously reported, the S7 MaxV has 5,100 Pa of suction and the latest ReactiveAI 2.0 obstacle avoidance technology. The device can also charge up to 30% faster than older Roborock docking stations.
Roborock suggested that the tool will soon be accessible via updates to other models in its range. The new feature arrives alongside an announcement from the company about its new Q-series robot vacuums.
