Xiaomi Civi 1S: Stylish design and Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset confirmed before official release
Xiaomi is preparing to release the Civi 1S not the Civi Pro, a successor to last year's Civi. As expected, the Civi 1S will feature an SM7325-based SoC like its predecessor. However, the Civi 1S will rely on the Snapdragon 778G Plus, a minor upgrade over the Snapdragon 778G. Specifically, the former offers a 2.5 GHz peak CPU frequency, 100 MHz higher than the Snapdragon 778G. The pair share all other key features though, like an Adreno 642L GPU.
Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed what the Civi 1S looks like in several marketing renders. While Xiaomi markets the Civi 1S as a new smartphone, it looks like its predecessor but with a new colourway. According to Xiaomi, the Civi 1S will be available in a gradient finish that translates as 'Miracle Sunshine'. Other specifications remain unknown at this stage, although Xiaomi hints that the Civi 1S may have better battery life than the original Civi.
The Xiaomi Civi 1S will launch tomorrow in China. Based on earlier leaks, the Civi 1S will only be available in China. Supposedly, Xiaomi will sell the Civi 1S outside China as the Xiaomi 12 Lite, which may explain why the Civi 1S and the Xiaomi 12 series have similar designs.
