Xiaomi 12 Lite: Specifications for upcoming 5G smartphone leak with a blend of Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and Xiaomi 12X hardware
It is no secret that Xiaomi is developing the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G, a cheaper alternative to the Xiaomi 12X. Seen a few days ago on the FCC's database, the handset is expected to receive a global release, unlike the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Now, Yogesh Brar has shared several specifications for the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G that point to it being a minor upgrade over last year's Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE.
Specifically, Brar asserts that the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display, matching its predecessor. Likewise, the display will output at 1080p, referred to as FHD+. However, Brar believes that the Xiaomi 12 Lite has a 120 Hz panel, 30 Hz fast than the 90 Hz one in the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Also, the Xiaomi 12 Lite is rumoured to come with a 4,500 mAh battery, a minor upgrade over the 4,250 mAh battery that the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has.
Brar mentions that the Xiaomi 12 Lite supports 67 W fast charging too, which sounds suspiciously like the Xiaomi 12X. As the FCC has already confirmed, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will launch with MIUI 13 based on Android 12, mirroring the rest of the Xiaomi 12 series. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will have its predecessor's rear-facing cameras, consisting of a 64 MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5 MP macro sensor.
For some reason, Xiaomi has gone with a 16 MP front-facing camera, a potential downgrade from the 20 MP sensor in the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and the 32 MP one in the Xiaomi 12X. Based on the FCC's documentation, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will arrive with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, plus 128 GB and 256 GB of storage. Colours and the Xiaomi 12 Lite's design remain unknown at this stage, though, but the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G, another element retained from the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE.
