Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G surfaces on the EEC and FCC with Android 12, MIUI 13 and multiple memory configurations
The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G has surfaced online again, having been seen last month on the Geekbench database. To recap, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G is expected to arrive with a Snapdragon 778G chipset and at least 8 GB of RAM. Also, Xiaomiui demonstrated that Xiaomi has been preparing global and EU builds based on Android 12 and MIUI 13.
Now, the FCC has published its documentation for the 2203129G, the same model number seen on the Geekbench database. For reference, the 'G' suffix in 2203129G denotes that it is a global device rather than one intended for China or India. Additionally, Xiaomi has submitted 2203129G to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia, a step that many companies take before selling a device in Europe.
While neither agency has revealed what the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G looks like, the FCC has confirmed a few more details about the device. Specifically, it outlines that Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G with Android 12 and MIUI 13, as Xiaomiui asserted. Moreover, Xiaomi has created three memory configurations, starting with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Like many other mid-range smartphones, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will also be available with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi will unveil the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G. Reputedly, Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi 12 Ultra in May, but that may be a Chinese-only release. However, if the Mi 11 Lite's launch is anything to go by, we could see the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G by the end of this month.
