After launching the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X months ago, Xiaomi has yet another device in the works, and it's not the Xiaomi 12 Ultra either. The company has the Xiaomi 12 Lite lined up for release and a new leak has now provided insight into what will be the Mi 11 Lite's successor.
In a report by Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi 12 Lite has been revealed to bear the codename "taoyao" and internal designation "l9". The Xiaomi 12 Pro is coded as "l2", for what it's worth. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is tipped to sport a 6.55-inch curved FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED.
In fact, going by the leaked renders, the Xiaomi 12 Lite appears to share plenty of traits with the Xiaomi Civi that was launched in China months ago, leaning heavily on that device for its design as well. Supposedly, the Xiaomi 12 Lite could be powered by a Snapdragon 778G+, while sporting a 64 MP GW3 as its main camera but with OIS disappointingly missing. As it stands, the mid-range phone will be exclusive to the global market.
