A while ago, reports surfaced indicating that Xiaomi planned to launch the Xiaomi 12 series globally on March 15. Those rumors look to have been right on the mark, as the company has now officially confirmed its latest flagship phones to be scheduled for a global debut on that date.
In a flurry of social media posts across local Xiaomi pages, the message rings through: the Xiaomi 12 series will make its global debut on March 15 at an online-only event slated for 12:00 GMT. The Xiaomi global page reports that time in GMT +8, though, showing off its Chinese roots.
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will both debut at that event. The Xiaomi 12X has been said to also launch globally but there's been little to no evidence of such claims. Xiaomi withholding the Snapdragon 870-powered 12X from the global market would be a sad miss, though, as most would likely favor it for its compactness and strong price-to-performance ratio.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra isn't expected, of course—it's more likely to launch around July or August. Word of the Xiaomi 12 Lite surfaced a while ago, so there's a chance it could make an appearance as well, though we wouldn't bet on that right now.
