Xiaomi 12 Lite: More indications emerge about the approaching release of a cheaper alternative to the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X

Xiaomi has launched plenty of products this week, including the Redmi MAX 100", RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 and more Redmi K50 series handsets. Arguably, the company's focus was on the global launch of the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and the Xiaomi 12 Pro, three months on from their release in China. However, it seems that Xiaomi is not done with the Xiaomi 12 series just yet.

According to Xiaomiui, it has seen the Xiaomi 12 Lite on IMEI databases. Unfortunately, the website has not published the IMEI number, but it has shared a screenshot outlining the marketing name 'Xiaomi 12 Lite'. Additionally, the database result returns the model number '2203129G', previously seen at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia. For reference, Xiaomiui leaked details about the Xiaomi 12 Lite in October, referred to then as 'L9' and its codename 'Taoyao'.

Purportedly, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will launch with a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC and a 6.55-inch OLED display that has a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2,400 x 1,080-pixel native resolution. Allegedly, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will feature the Samsung ISOCELL GW3 as its primary camera too, a 64 MP sensor also found in the Xiaomi CIVI and Mi 11 Lite. Unfortunately, it remains unknown when Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi 12 Lite, although its 2203129G confirms that Xiaomi intends to sell it globally.
