Xiaomi Civi price leaked ahead of launch but don't expect to see the eye-catching Snapdragon 778G midranger outside of China
Xiaomi has sprung the Civi smartphone onto an unsuspecting public, with the new aesthetically pleasing device heading for launch on September 27. Packed with a Snapdragon 778G (with the possibility of a Dimensity 1200 SoC turning up for other models) and up to 12 GB RAM, the Xiaomi Civi is not just all about looks. However, a series of real life images, with some new ones posted below, have shown that the upcoming smartphone is quite a looker.
According to Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi Civi (stylized as “CIVI”) will be a China-only exclusive, meaning there is no global launch planned for the latest in the company’s long lineup of smartphones. International fans will likely be disappointed that they won’t get to use the Civi’s 64 MP main camera or enjoy watching content on the 6.55-inch 120 Hz-capable display, especially considering the supposed price tags for the flashy phone.
A source on China’s Weibo social media site insists that the 8 GB + 128 GB variant of the Xiaomi Civi will be priced at a reasonable 2,699 yuan, which is about US$418 at the current exchange rate. The expected price for the 8 GB + 256 GB model is 2,999 yuan (US$464), while the top-end 12 GB + 256 GB powerful midranger is purportedly going to cost 3,299 yuan (US$510).
