It seems that Xiaomi is preparing to release another TV Stick, a successor to last year's model. According to the FCC, Xiaomi has assigned MDZ-27-AA to the device, which appears to be called the Mi TV Stick 4K 2021.
While Xiaomi has not announced anything about a new TV Stick yet, the FCC has published a user manual. As the photos below also show, Xiaomi will include a remote and a 5W power supply in the box, along with the TV Stick itself. There should be an HDMI extender bundled, too.
Additionally, the FCC has confirmed that the new TV Stick contains an Amlogic S905Y4, an SoC with four ARM Cortex-A35 cores and a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The upcoming TV Stick will also support the following:
- 4K/60 FPS with a 10-bit colour depth
- AV1, AVS2 (4K/ 30 FPS), H.264, H.265 and VP9 P-2 codecs
- Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, DTS HD, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG
Incidentally, the next TV Stick should launch running Android TV, rather than the newer Google TV. The device will support up to 866.7 Mbps download speeds over VHT80 and 300 Mbps uploads via HT40. For context, the original Mi TV Stick maxed out at half these speeds. Xiaomi is expected to unveil the MDZ-27-AA within the next few weeks.
