Xiaomi is reportedly set to launch a new smartphone series: the Xiaomi Civi. The first phone in the series has now been tipped to feature a 108 MP camera. Not just any 108 MP camera either; the ISOCELL HM3 on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Rumors of the Civi's SoC may disappoint, however.

Xiaomi is set to debut a new smartphone shortly in China. According to images circulating online, the new phone will be the first in the "Civi" series, and a new leak has now revealed a few details about the device.

Supposedly, the Civi series will replace the Mi CC lineup that debuted a few years ago. That means that the series will offer mostly flagship-grade camera performance while maintaining otherwise mid-range specs and pricing. Tipped specs for the phone also appear to confirm that theory.

According to Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi Civi will debut with a 108 MP camera. That isn't impressive by itself, as Xiaomi has equipped even phones like the Redmi Note 10 Pro with 108 MP cameras. It's the sensor in question that makes the Xiaomi Civi interesting. Xiaomiui claims the Civi will sport the ISOCELL HM3. For those not in the know, that's the same 108 MP sensor on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and a notable upgrade on the Mi 11's HMX and the Xiaomi 11T's HM2.

In addition, the Xiaomi Civi is said to be powered by a MediaTek chipset. The exact chipset remains unknown but a Dimensity 1200 would be a solid bet.
