YouTuber leaks Mobvoi's next TicWatch Pro smartwatch
In July, Google teased that Mobvoi would be releasing another TicWatch, having launched the TicWatch E3 in June. Google only referred to a future Mobvoi smartwatch as 'follow on TicWatch devices', which it mentioned in the same sentence as the Fossil Group's 'new generation of devices', which we now know as the Gen 6.
Andrea Galeazzi, a popular Italian YouTuber, has revealed Mobvoi's next smartwatch, though. Galeazzi does not talk much about the device, but he confirms it is the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS, a name that returns no other results online. Presumably, Galeazzi has unveiled the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS while the smartwatch remains under an NDA.
Nonetheless, Galeazzi states that the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS has a Snapdragon Wear 4100+, the same SoC that with which Fossil equips the Gen 6. In short, little separates the Wear 4100, found in the TicWatch Pro 3, and the Wear 4100+. The latter features a co-processor designed to reduce the power consumption of Always on Display (AoD) functionality, which Mobvoi circumvents with a low power secondary display instead.
Galeazzi mentions that Mobvoi has military certified the smartwatch too, likely MIL-STD-810G or an equivalent. The packaging also hints at a few design changes between the TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra. As far as we can tell, the latter has a lighter-coloured case that may even be aluminium or stainless steel. It seems that a ridged edge surrounds the display, also.
Display bezels look smaller as well, although this may be some marketing trickery. The FCC is yet to publish any documentation for a new Mobvoi smartwatch, so we only have Galeazzi's video to go off currently. We doubt that the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra will differ much from the current model, though.
