The Huawei Smart Door Lock is now available to pre-order in China
The Huawei Smart Door Lock and the Smart Door Lock Pro are now available to pre-order in China via sites such as vmall and JD.com. As reported last month, the Smart Door Lock Pro has 3D AI facial recognition, enabling the door to unlock in under two seconds with a one in a million chance of false identification.
Aside from the 3D facial recognition, the standard and the Pro versions of the lock have many similar features. These include a fingerprint scanner to unlock the door and a camera that you can use to see who is at your door from a connected smart device.
When Huawei first unveiled the devices, it did not reveal the prices. You can now pre-order the Smart Door Lock for 2,199 yuan (~US$345), with the cost of the device increasing to 2,499 yuan (~US$392) after this pre-sale period.
The Smart Door Lock Pro is also discounted for those who pre-order, costing 3,299 yuan (~US$517) now and 3,699 (~US$580) yuan after the product’s release. The device will go on sale on April 28th, when Huawei is also expected to start shipping the gadget to customers who pre-ordered it. It remains unclear whether or when Huawei could release these products in other markets.
