Huawei launches the Smart Door Lock Pro powered by HarmonyOS
Huawei has launched the Smart Door Lock Pro with AI 3D face recognition. Huawei claims that your door will unlock in under two seconds and that the device has only one in a million false-positive results.
The smart lock is powered by HarmonyOS for additional security and uses a 3D deep-sensing camera from Huawei’s flagship P50 Pro phone. Also included are 1 TOPS, an AI chip and an algorithm that dynamically learns, improving facial recognition over time.
The camera can capture up to 307,200 depth points for accurate face scanning. With a 150° viewing angle, the camera will work for anyone between 3.4 ft and 6.6 ft (1.2 and 2 m) tall. The camera is light adaptive, meaning it should still work in bright or dark light.
The Smart Door Lock Pro has a 3.97-inch display, so you can see who is at the door. Alternatively, you can receive a video notification on a connected smart device. Alongside facial recognition, you can unlock your door with a fingerprint, smartphone or smartwatch, an NFC card, a password or a physical key.
Other features of the smart lock include automatic locking, and HarmonyOS allows you to trigger other smart home devices, such as turning on lights when you get home. The lock has a dual-cell 8,800 mAh lithium battery giving the device up to six months of life with everyday use.
The Huawei Smart Door Lock Pro is listed on vmall, though no price is currently given. It is also unclear when the device will be available and in which countries.
