Polk releases the MagniFi Mini AX to provide Dolby Atmos in a 15-inch soundbar

Polk has unveiled a new compact sound bar, the MagniFi Mini AX. The gadget measures 15-inches (~38 cm) in length and comes with a subwoofer to create an expansive 3D soundstage, making it perfect for a home cinema.

The system uses a 5-speaker array alongside a down-firing wireless subwoofer that can sit up to ~22 ft (6.7 m) away from the device. The combination of speakers builds a multidimensional soundstage and virtual surround sound for a rich audio experience. The 360° audio gives you the impression of sounds overhead, such as a flying plane.

Alongside this, the MagniFi Mini AX has Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Also included are Polk’s SDA technology and a 3D audio mode that each improves the accuracy of the sound placement. Polk’s patented VoiceAdjust tech is used to bring clarity to quiet speech without affecting the rest of the soundtrack.

The system will have a range of modes, including Movie, Music and Night mode, that reduces the bass to avoid disturbing other people. To connect to the device, you can use Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect. The speaker has HDMI, optical and AUX-in ports for physical device connections.
