The new Devialet Dione soundbar has eight built-in subwoofers
Devialet has released the Dione soundbar for home cinema. The gadget has 17 autonomous high-end drivers, to deliver deep bass as low as 24 Hz and clear treble, including nine full-range aluminum drives and eight aluminum long-throw subwoofers.
The company says that the device provides a 3D cinematic experience with Dolby Atmos 5.1.2, bringing an additional layer of sound from above. Devialet’s SPACE patented algorithm upscales mono or stereo sound to mimic the immersive experience.
At the centre of the Dione soundbar is the ORB, which enables the Dione to adapt based on the position of the soundbar. The gadget has four calibration microphones to customize the acoustics based on your room. The product, measuring ~47.2 x 3.5 x 6.5 -in (1200 x 88 x 165 mm), can deliver up to 101 dB sound pressure level (SPL) at one meter.
You can connect to the device using the HDMI 2.1 port with ARC and eARC (audio return channel) for zero bandwidth limitation. Alternatively, you can connect via Bluetooth 5.0 or Apple Airplay 2, plus the speaker supports Spotify Connect. Several modes come with the soundbar, including Movie Mode, Music Mode and Spatial Mode, enhancing audio from wirelessly connected devices.
You can control the soundbar in the accompanying app, using a compatible smart remote or with the standalone controller, sold separately. The Devialet Dione soundbar is available to pre-order for US$2,400 and is due to ship on April 26th.
