Xiaomi launches the Xiaoji mini smart washing machine for up to 2.5 kg of laundry

Xiaomi has launched a new washing smart home device, the Xiaoji 2.5kg smart sterilization mini drum washing machine 6TX. The company says that the device is ideal for washing children's clothes or for use in small spaces, measuring 630 x 500 x 415 mm (~24.8 x 19.6 x 16.3-in)

The mini washing machine has been optimized for washing delicate clothing, imitating a hand wash with its stainless steel bionic inner wall and 3D swirl technology. The gadget protects fibres with a gentle clean while ensuring deep stain removal. You can wash clothes at up to 95°C, delivering a 99.99% sterilization rate.

A direct drive powers the machine, producing a maximum of 53 dBA for minimal sleep disturbance. There are 11 washing programs that you can use, including silk care and sports instant wash.

The Xiaoji mini smart washing machine can wash loads up to 2.5 kg (~5.5 lbs), equivalent to eight items of kids' clothing or five shirts. You can control the device using the built-in LED touch screen.

Through the Xiaoji app, you can remotely start the washing machine, check its status or schedule future campaigns. The app will also notify you when the gadget needs to be cleaned and alert you of any errors mid-wash.

The device is currently available to pre-order in China for 2,499 yuan (~US$394). After this initial period, the device will retail for 2,999 yuan (~US$473). It is unclear whether or when the device will be available in other markets.
