Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Router AX5400, which it claims has enhanced Wi-Fi 6 capabilities. The mesh router can deliver wireless speeds up to 5.4 GB, with access to the 160 MHz band to reduce latency.
The company states that the device has 512 MB RAM and 4k QAM, providing a more powerful data throughput and making it 20% faster than traditional routers. Xiaomi also notes that the Redmi Router AX5400 has an 80% increase in independent NPU thanks to its Qualcomm IPQ5018 router chip.
The device measures 284 x 186 x 186 mm (~11.2 x 7.3 x 7.3-in) and has six antennas. The router has three 10/100/1000M LAN ports and a 10/100/1000M adaptive WAN connector.
You can connect the Redmi Router AX5400 to up to 248 devices and network it with other Xiaomi and Redmi routers. If you change your Wi-Fi password, the gadget will automatically reconnect to smart devices.
The Mijia app can be used to set up and intelligently control the router. You can now buy the Redmi Router AX5400 in China via Youpin for 399 yuan (~US$63).
