TP-Link has added two new products to its smart home range; the Kasa Smart Doorbell and the Kasa Cam Outdoor. Both gadgets are compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, plus you can view live video using an Alexa Show or Google Chromecast device.
The Kasa Smart Doorbell, unveiled at CES 2022, allows you to answer the door remotely. The device has a 3 MP HD camera to capture video at a wider angle. The device has a built-in microphone and speaker, so you can speak to visitors even if you are out. The gadget is IP64 certified, meaning it is resistant to rain and dust.
The Kasa Cam Outdoor has a 4 MP wide-angle 2K camera to detect motion up to 30 ft (~9 m) away. This device also has two-way conversation functionality, and the gadget can alert you to intruders via the Kasa Smart app.
You can use the Kasa app to set actions such as turning on a connected smart outdoor light if the camera detects an intruder. Or you could trigger a phone alert when someone rings the doorbell.
The new smart devices are now available to customers in the US. You can buy the Kasa Smart Doorbell and Kasa Cam Outdoor for US$59.99 each. It is unclear whether or when these devices will be available in other markets.
