Enabot, a family robotics company, has released the EBO Air, a smart and interactive family robot. The device is designed to be a companion for your household, providing protection, entertainment and comfort. The Enabot EBO was launched on Kickstarter last year, raising over US$250k with the campaign.
The EBO robot can record, track and follow household members throughout the day. The device has a 1080p HD camera, two speakers and a microphone. Two-way communication via the gadget is enabled with WiFi and a connected mobile app. For example, parents can interact with children and pets when they're not home via EBO Air.
The EBO Air can identify people, pets and obstacles thanks to AI and time-of-flight (ToF) technology. The device has surveillance features including 24-hour video recording, motion detection and infrared night vision; if the robot detects unusual behaviour, it will trigger an alert.
You can remotely drive the robot using the app, compatible with both Android and iOS products, and you can use the app to capture photos. Plus, multiple users can log in to the app and connect to the robot simultaneously.
The EBO Air is compact, measuring ~3.8 x 3.8 x 3.5-in (9.6 x 9.6 x 8.9 cm). The EBO Air has a tumbler design to get back on its wheels if it falls over, and it will automatically dock when it's low on charge. The EBO Air is now available for US$229 from the Enabot website and select partners, including Amazon.
