Denon DHT-S217: 2.1 Ch soundbar presented with Dolby Atmos support for US$249
Denon has introduced the DHT-S217, a relatively affordable 2.1 soundbar that will be available in multiple markets. According to the company's product page, the DHT-S217 has six drivers split into three clusters. Specifically, the DHT-S217 has two 25 mm round tweeters, two 90 x 40 mm racetrack midrange drivers and two 75 mm round subwoofers.
Additionally, the soundbar measures 890 x 120 x 67 mm and weighs 3.6 kg but is only available in black. Like many soundbars, the DHT-S217 can be wall-mounted or placed on a tabletop. Also, Denon includes a subwoofer out, HDMI with eARC/ARC, optical audio, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB port. While Denon has included built-in controls, it bundles a small remote with 18 buttons.
Separately, the DHT-S217 supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital decoding, Denon's Dialog Enhancer and several sound modes. Incidentally, the DHT-S217 can connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capable devices and supports Bluetooth A2DP. The DHT-S217 will be available next month for US$249 and will be orderable from Denon directly, along with third-party retailers.
