The Laser Cinema 2 is now available to order outside China, four months after Xiaomi unveiled the projector in its home market. To recap, the Laser Cinema 2 utilises a MediaTek MT9669 SoC, 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM to create between 80- to 150-inch images. Xiaomi claims that the projector can output in 4K, but only using Digital Light Processing (DLP).
Still, Xiaomi asserts that the Laser Cinema 2 offers 2,400 ANSI Lumens of peak brightness while covering 113% of the Rec.709 colour space. Additionally, the projector offers a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Atmos, along with Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation (MEMC) to minimise image tearing. For reference, the Laser Cinema 2 has a 0.23:1 throw ratio, allowing it to produce a 100-inch projection when placed 20 cm from a wall.
Currently, Xiaomi does not sell the Laser Cinema 2 directly on its website. Instead, the projector is available from resellers on third-party retailers like AliExpress and Banggood. As it stands, the Laser Cinema 2 costs roughly US$2,500 on AliExpress and US$2,840 on Banggood. For context, Xiaomi sells the projector in China for CNY 14,999 (~US$2,357).
