Philips unveils ultra-short-throw projector, the Screeneo U4

Philips has unveiled the Screeneo U4, a new ultra-short-throw projector. The device boasts AI technology, such as autofocus, and low latency for gaming. The website suggests other use cases for the gadget could be business meetings, watching TV, or following video recipes in the kitchen.

With a 0.25:1 ultra short-throw ratio, the Screeneo has a projection size from 15 to 80-in (~38 to ~203 cm). For example, an 80-in (~203 cm) image can be achieved when the device is 12-in (30.5 cm) from the projection surface.

The projector has full HD 1080p resolution with HDR 10 and up to 400 lumens of brightness. Plus, the Screeneo has low latency at 30 ms with a 60 hz refresh rate, which means you can use it for gaming.

The gadget is portable, weighing 3 lb (~1.4 kg) and measuring 4.86 x 3.21 x 8.8-in (124 x 8.2 x 22.4 cm). The Screeneo has a USB-A and two HDMI ports, which can handle up to 4k at 60 hz, so you can easily hook up devices such as an Amazon Firestick or Apple TV.

Multiple sound output options are available, including a headphone jack and two Bluetooth 5.0 connections for wireless devices. The projector also has its own 2.1 sound system delivering surround sound and bass boost features.

The Screeneo has AI-driven automatic image customization, such as autofocus and auto keystone features. If the device is knocked out of place, automatic four corner correction ensures the image rights itself on the projection wall.
