LG OLED42C24LA: World's first 42-inch OLED TV launches for £1,399
In January, LG revealed the C2 OLED series, which builds on last year's C1 range. Previously, LG only offered OLED TVs with screen sizes 48-inches and upwards. The C2 OLED series changed this though, with LG expanding its offerings to a 42-inch model. LG will also sell the C2 OLED series in 55, 65, 77 and 83-inch screen sizes.
While LG is yet to reveal how much the 42-inch C2 OLED costs, John Lewis in the UK has. As the screenshot below shows, LG has priced the OLED42C24LA at £1,399, making it no cheaper than the OLED48C24LA. For reference, John Lewis bundles a pair of LG TONE Free HBS-FN4 earbuds with pre-orders, which retail for £99.
According to John Lewis, the OLED42C24LA will begin shipping 'within 5 weeks'. In other words, OLED42C24LA pre-orders should reach people by March 23, at least in the UK. Additionally, the OLED42C24LA features LG's new a9 Gen5 processor, runs webOS 6.0 and can display content at 4K/120 Hz. Accordingly, the TV includes HDMI 2.1 ports and NVIDIA G-SYNC support for high-end gaming PCs and the Xbox Series S|X or PlayStation 5.
