Cyberpunk 2077: Loading times drastically reduced with free next-gen update for the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5
YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has already tested the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X versions of Cyberpunk 2077, released yesterday. The YouTube channel has also compared the native next-gen versions of the game with those that CD Projekt Red originally released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Unsurprisingly, the native games offer several advantages over their last-generation siblings.
As the videos below show, CD Projekt Red has significantly reduced loading times on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X versions of its triple-A title. Previously, it took the PlayStation 5 nearly 25 seconds to load into the PlayStation 4 version of Cyberpunk 2077, which the native edition reduces to under 12 seconds. It is a similar story with the Xbox Series X, too.
Additionally, CD Projekt Red has improved textures, draw distances and crowd densities with its Patch 1.5 and next-gen updates. Apparently, framerates are more stable as well, even on the Xbox Series S. Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red has capped the Xbox Series S to 1440p and 30 FPS; the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 handle Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K and 60 FPS.
You can read more about the game's next-gen update and Patch 1.5 in our corresponding article. Incidentally, CD Projekt Red has reduced Cyberpunk 2077 by 50% as part of a soft re-launch of sorts. The promotion should last until March 3 and is also available to PC gamers.
