Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 released for all major platforms; Phantom Liberty DLC also teased for next-gen consoles and PC
Cyberpunk 2077 has, for the most part, faded into obscurity after its disastrous launch. While CD Projekt Red has kept the patches and gameplay fixes rolling, it has remained tight-lipped about DLC. Now, a trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has finally been unveiled. It shows glimpses of what the DLC could have in store for us, such as new weapons, the protagonist/antagonist and a few locations.
CD Projekt Red is yet to confirm the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty release date. It seems to have been ready for a while, as highlighted by an earlier update which accidentally leaked the entire DLC plot. Now, it has been a while since that happened, and the game may still surprise players. Last-gen console owners will not be able to get in on the fun, though, as Phantom Liberty is only available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia. That is quite a punch in the gut for those who bought the Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 edition console because buyers were promised day-one access to the DLC.
For now, one has to make do with the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners update aka Patch 1.6. It adds a new Roach Race minigame, new firearms, melee weapons, additional secret areas in the city and a load of QoL changes. Patch 1.6 will also be the last major update for the PS4 and Xbox One. Many features highlighted in the changelog, such as new secret areas in the city, are also not available on previous-gen consoles. CD Projekt Red has also committed to overhauling the game's laughably bad police system at a later point. Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 is now downloadable across all major platforms.
