Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.52 released as developer hints at expansion pack
CD Projekt Red has released another patch for Cyberpunk 2077, having upgraded the game to Patch 1.5 last month. Now, the company has introduced Patch 1.52, distributed across all platforms. While CD Projekt Red remarks that Patch 1.52 is not necessarily available across all platforms yet, the update has reached GOG installations.
According to the patch notes, CD Projekt Red has made several gameplay, quest, open world, UI, visual and console-specific changes. For example, the company claims to have improved memory usage and reduced crashes on current-generation consoles while also fixing an issue that caused wrecked cars or Nomad cars to spawn in traffic when driving at speed. You can find the full patch notes on CD Projekt Red's dedicated news page, which also enables aggressive crowds on the Stadia version of the game.
Separately, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that a Cyberpunk 2077 expansion remains in development. Writing on Twitter, the team behind the game confirmed that:
REDengine, the technology which powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used for the development of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.
Unfortunately, it remains unclear when CD Projekt Red will release any such expansion. Currently, the company has not updated last year's Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap, although it managed to deliver its next-gen console update within Q1 2022. Worse still, CD Projekt Red quietly cancelled Cyberpunk 2077 online in December without offering a reason behind the decision.
