Steam Deck shows the big boys how to run Cyberpunk 2077 in new gameplay videos
The Steam Deck console appeared in an unboxing and brief gameplay video at the end of last year and now the soon-to-be-released gadget has popped up again in some more gameplay clips. Collated by YouTube channel RepsUp100, these videos appear to come from devs who have been getting to grips with the Steam Deck and testing out its capabilities.
The puzzle game Escape Simulator and the racing title Art of Rally are given quick tests in two of the clips (see below) but it is arguably the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay that really shows the Steam Deck in a good light. While one of the videos has commenters accusing the host of simply streaming the action RPG, it’s clear to see in the shorter clip that the Steam Deck user is playing Cyberpunk 2077 live.
Apparently, the system’s custom AMD Zen 2/RDNA 2 APU (CPU: 4 cores @2.4-3.5 GHz; GPU: 8 CUs @1.0-1.6 GHz) can handle the graphics processing demands thrown at it by Cyberpunk 2077 and the result is seemingly smooth gameplay, which should thrill gamers looking to get their hands on a Steam Deck when it is released at the end of February. It looks like Valve’s contender is almost ready to take on the Nintendo Switch for the handheld console crown.
