Dogecoin founder puts his 'Dreaming Doge' NFT collection up for sale at 0.088 ETH apiece
One of Dogecoin's co-founders has put their NFT "collection of pixelated doge art, for peace and good fortune" up for sale on the OpenSea platform. Dogecoin's NFT kit is called "Dreaming Doge" and there will be eight different NFT art pieces of the daydreaming 8-bit canines with 88 editions each to be had. The Dreaming Doge editions will be sold at 0.088 ETH each, or about $254 at the current Ethereum price.
While cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin, were in freefall just a few short days ago, the NFT market is growing leaps and bounds and even hit a record trading volume last month. NFTs are increasingly falling under the scrutiny of finance ministries worldwide as just another digital asset to tax and regulate, though, so the digital art party may not go on forever.
Dogecoin received notoriety as a tongue-in-cheek crypto when it was first created created by software engineers Billy Markus aka Shibetoshi Nakamoto and Jackson Palmer, but a few Elon Musk endorsements later and it has now become nearly as popular as Bitcoin or Ethereum. Well, now you can buy Dreaming Doge NFTs from one of the founders of the original "meme coin," too, and the 0.088 ETH price is not even that high considering how much some more obscure NFTs have been going for these days.
