AVM has revealed a new smart radiator controller, the FRITZ!DECT 302, at MWC. The gadget can be used to automatically or virtually regulate your room temperature, with benefits including energy and cost savings.

The FRITZ!DECT 302 has a long battery life, with several energy-saving features such as an e-paper display for energy efficiency without compromising legibility. The gadget is suitable to use on standard radiator valves and can be controlled on the device, using a smartphone or tablet, a wireless push-button or the FRITZ!Fon phone.

You can group multiple smart thermostatic valves to sync the heating throughout your home. The FRITZ!DECT 302 also has a smart open window detection system, which automatically reduces the temperature for a set time while you are letting fresh air into the room.

Other features on the gadget include a boost function for fast heating and setting a weekly schedule. You can receive a push notification when the device cannot connect to the Wi-Fi or if the battery is running low.

AVM will add new features to the smart controllers via regular free updates. To use the FRITZ!DECT 302, you need to have a FRITZ!Box with DECT base. The device is on sale now for ~US$77 (€69).
