BenQ X3000i: 4K gaming projector now available with up to 240 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms input latency
While LG has just announced two new Laser projectors, BenQ has started selling the BenQ X3000i, presented last month at CES 2022. Currently, BenQ sells the X3000i for £1,699 in the UK and €1,899 in the Eurozone. However, the company notes that projectors ordered during its pre-order period of February 14 to March 14 will be delivered on a 'first-ordered, first-served basis upon product availability'.
According to BenQ, the X3000i offers a 4K resolution (DLP), a 240 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms input latency. However, the projector can only achieve 240 Hz and 4 ms at 1080p. Alternatively, the X3000i supports 120 Hz and 8 ms at 1080p as well or 16 ms response times at 4K/60 Hz.
Additionally, the projector supports HDR10, 3000 ANSI Lumens of brightness and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. The X3000i also includes 2D keystone correction, 1.3x zoom and an Android TV dongle that you plug directly into the unit. Apparently, the projector's 4LED light source should last up to 20,000 hours of normal or 'SmartEco' use and 30,000 hours if you enable ECO mode.
Incidentally, BenQ has equipped the X3000i with dual 5 W speakers, a 3.5 mm jack and an optical audio port, plus dual HDMI connections. Unfortunately, the latter are HDMI 2.0b, not the newer HDMI 2.1. The BenQ X3000i should start shipping next month in the Eurozone and UK. The projector itself measures 272 x 197 x 259 mm, for reference, and weighs 6.4 kg.
