OPPO had announced that the next installment of its mid-range K smartphone series would be the first on the market with a new Dimensity 8000-line chipset...although it now seems Redmi might actually beat it to this title. Nevertheless, the upcoming device should still be interesting should it launch with a variant the Xiaomi sub-brand happens to omit; the 8000 as opposed to the 8100, for example.
The K10 may also be worth following as it is said to have specs in common with the first-gen OnePlus 150W SuperVOOC smartphone, and may thus hint at what that apparently cutting-edge device might offer, depending on which version launches first.
These prospects are now projected to include a 50MP main camera, and, ccording to a new image allegedly coming direct from OPPO and posted by GSMArena, a headphone jack next to its USB type-C port.
This apparently official render also indicates that OPPO intends to reprise the 'full-width' camera hump from the K9 series, which, despite its similarity to that of the Mi 11 Ultra, mainly acts to house the series' holographic branding.
This second-gen look, now tipped to launch as "Glow Design" in the K10, might also update itself with on-trend extra-large lenses for 2 of the K10's putative 3 rear cameras. It is linked to just 2 colorways (blue and black) thus far.
The K10 has been slated to launch on March 23, 2022 in India - however, as the link on which this claim is based leads to an OPPO-branded 404 page at the time of writing, this is a report impossible to corroborate at present.
