Rumor | The OPPO K9 Pro will launch within September 2021 as a new 64MP main-camera phone with a 120Hz display
OPPO released a new K-series smartphone with particularly competitive branding and a TV to match its name earlier in 2021. Now, the OEM is projected to launch a Pro variant of the same device, with even more of an eye-catching design and improved specs, not the least of which may be MediaTek's current Dimensity 1200 SoC. Now, this upcoming phone has what might be a date on which to debut all these rumored properties.
The K9 Pro has appeared as a listing on the Chinese retailer JD's website, alongside mention of a September 26, 2021 launch. It contains new, official-looking renders that seem to confirm its large, window-like camera hump. The opposite side of this rear-panel-spanning and light-bending sheet of what may be glass serves to house the "09-K" and "Super Performance" branding from the preceding vanilla K9 variant.
This new leak may also serve to affirm the upcoming OPPO phone's 64MP main camera and display. The latter has a left-corner punch-hole, and is now also said to have a 120Hz refresh rate for its AMOLED panel.
Therefore, the K9 Pro is shaping up to be worthwhile as well as interesting-looking as a mid-range Android device on its launch, even if its new reservations price gives no hints as to its full price as yet. However, we do now know that it will launch with ColorOS 11, as it will not see an upgrade to the latest 12 version until 2022.
