OPPO secured an official NMPA certification for the ECG sensor installed in an alternative version of its first-gen Watch. This allowed the OEM to sell said wearable as a special edition rated for enhanced heart-health tracking right from the user's wrist.
Now, the well-known tipster Evan Blass has started to hint at a second generation for that version of the OPPO Watch. This rumor mostly manifests itself in the form of images showing what looks like the company's recently-launched Watch 2, modified to show an ECG read-out on its display.
Should this be the case, this variant of the 2021 OPPO Watch could now rival the new Apple Watch Series 7 - especially given the wearable's resemblance to the Cupertino giant's signature wearable.
There are no indications of additional spec changes - or a launch outside of China, for that matter - for this newly alleged OPPO Watch 2 ECG Edition. Therefore, it is likely to launch with a dual Snapdragon Wear 4100/Ambiq Apollo4s chipset array and running on ColorOS for smartwatches as before.
