Oppo has announced the A57 5G, seemingly a Chinese exclusive for the time being. The successor to the A56 5G, the A57 5G measures 163.8 x 75.1 x 7.99 mm and weighs 186 g. Additionally, Oppo has equipped the A57 5G with a 6.56-inch display that has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the IPS panel operates at 1,612 x 720 pixels, which is relatively low resolution.
Elsewhere, the A57 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10 W charging, a Dimensity 810 chipset and a basic camera set up of a 13 MP primary sensor, a 2 MP depth lens and an 8 MP front-facing camera. Like many mid-range smartphones, the A57 5G has 128 GB of expandable storage, plus 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM options. However, Oppo has elected to include UFS 2.1 storage with the 8 GB of RAM configuration and the faster UFS 2.2 with the 6 GB model.
The Oppo A57 5G is pre-orderable in China from today, starting at CNY 1,500 (~US$236) with 8 GB of RAM. The handset arrives with ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12, but it is unclear whether Oppo plans to sell the A57 5G globally.
