Motorola Edge 30: Official images leak ahead of April release
Last week, Yogesh Brar shared specifications for the Edge 30, one of many smartphones that Motorola has planned for the first half of this year. Now, Evan Blass has leaked official Edge 30 marketing images, showcasing the device in three colours. Supposedly, the Edge 30 remains on track for a release at the end of this month, too.
Unsurprisingly, the Edge 30 resembles the Pro model of the same series. However, the Edge 30 is much thinner than the Edge 30 Pro, which has an 8.8 mm thick chassis. In comparison, Blass expects the Edge 30 to arrive with a sub-7 mm chassis, within which Motorola will include a 4,020 mAh battery, a 6.55-inch display and a Snapdragon 778G SoC.
As we have discussed previously, Motorola is expected to offer the Edge 30 with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, plus 128 GB and 256 GB of storage. The handset could support a 144 Hz refresh rate as well, along with 50 MP primary and ultra-wide cameras, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 32 MP front-facing camera. Blass adds that the latter should support 4-in-1 pixel binning to produce 8 MP selfies, matching the Edge 20. Pricing remains unknown at this stage, but the Edge 30 should be much cheaper than the Edge 30 Pro, which retails for US$999 as the Edge+ (2022).
