Motorola Edge 30 Ultra details revealed with a 200 MP camera and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus aboard
Motorola has slowly made a return to the flagship space with its Edge series. The company launched the Edge 30 Pro a while ago and is now set to follow it up with an even more ambitious device—the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra.
Going by leaker Yogesh Brar, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120 Hz curved P-OLED. In a world where WQHD+ displays have become dominant in the flagship space, that's a bit disappointing. It's also interesting that the leaker claims a 120 Hz display when the Edge 30 Pro already offers 144 Hz. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra looks to be solid otherwise, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a maximum of 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage promising flagship-grade performance.
Apparently, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will be the first smartphone with a 200 MP camera. From all indications, this is the same device as the Motorola "Frontier 22" from prior leaks, which guarantees the sensor in question is Samsung's ISOCELL HP1. That camera is said to be joined by a 50 MP ultra-wide shooter and a 12 MP telephoto camera. A leaked live image of the phone corroborates this information as well—the rear camera module will play host to just these three lenses. At the front will be a massive 60 MP camera.
Other specs like a 4500 mAh battery, 125 W charging, and an in-display fingerprint reader complete an impressive spec sheet. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has been tipped to debut in July. Pricing is currently unknown but the Motorola Edge 30 Pro costs US$999, and the Edge 30 Ultra will undoubtedly be more expensive.
