Earlier in the year, a report provided a good look at what is expected to be Motorola's high-profile device for the year, the "Frontier 22". It appears the phone's launch draws closer, with a supposed live image surfacing in the wild for the first time.
The Frontier 22 was reported to launch equipped with a 200 MP main camera and the leaked image shows the phone such a sensor indeed. Quite interestingly, the Frontier 22 appears to adopt a design similar to that of the Xiaomi Civi, with one main camera and two smaller lenses beneath it.
At the moment, there are two 200 MP cameras on the market: Samsung's ISOCELL HP1 and Omnivision's OVB0B. As expected, Motorola seems to have opted for the former with its massive 1/1.22-inch sensor size, 0.64 μm native pixel size, and 16-in-1 pixel-binning pipeline. The image shows that Motorola has paired the 200 MP HP1 with an f/2.2 lens. There appears to be Optical Image Stabilization as well, which is about expected on a phone of the Frontier 22's intended class.
