Xiaomi launches the smart Air Purifier 4 Series with Alexa voice controls

Xiaomi has launched the smart Air Purifier 4 Series. There are three air purifiers in the range: the Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Pro, Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 and Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Lite. The devices are aimed at people with allergies, with the company claiming it can clear PM10 and PM2.5 particles from the air, such as pet hair, spores, pollen and dust.

The gadget uses laser sensors to detect particles as small as 0.3 μm. There are also sensors to measure indoor temperature and humidity. The device has a display that shows stats such as air quality and room temperature.

You can choose from a series of modes, such as Night Mode, which reduces the gadget's noise and screen brightness. You can control the air purifier with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Alternatively, you can use the Xiaomi Home app to modify the gadget's settings.

Each model in the series suits a different desired cleaning area. The Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 can clean a room between 28 and 48 m² (~301 to 517 ft²), and the 4 Lite is suitable for smaller spaces, covering 25 to 43 m² (~269 to 463 ft²) of space. The 4 Pro covers an area from 35 to 60 m² (~377 to 646 ft²) and can purify a 30 m² (~323 ft²) room once in 10 minutes.

You can now buy the devices in some European countries, including Germany, Italy and the UK. The standard model costs €279 (~US$304), the Lite model €179 (~US$195) and the Pro model costs €349 (~US$379). The gadgets are available via the Xiaomi website and Amazon.
