Xiaomi Smart Band 7 launches globally for €59.99 with plenty of upgrades but no NFC option
Xiaomi has finally presented the Smart Band 7 globally, a few weeks after resellers started dispatching global units instead of Chinese ones. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has refrained from introducing the NFC model that it also sells in China. Based on previous Mi Smart Band releases, Xiaomi will unveil the Smart Band 7 NFC at a later date, presumably in collaboration with Mastercard.
In short, the Smart Band 7 is identical to the fitness tracker that Xiaomi already offers in its home market. As such, the Smart Band 7 has a 1.62-inch AMOLED display that peaks at 500 nits, up to 14 days of battery life and 5 ATM water resistance. Also, Xiaomi pre-loads over 100 watch faces, 110 sports modes and includes support for the Mi Fitness app on Android and iOS (Android 6.0+/iOS 10.0+).
Moreover, the Smart Band 7 will be available with blue, black, ivory, orange, olive and pink TPU straps. According to Xiaomi, it plans to offer neon green, neon orange, khaki green and khaki blue colour options too, albeit only as 'exclusive edition straps'. Incidentally, the Smart Band 7 has PPG heart rate, 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope and VO2 Max sensors, which Xiaomi has included within a 46.5 x 20.7 x 12.25 mm and 13.5 g chassis.
As expected, Xiaomi has priced the Smart Band 7 at €59.99, a considerable price hike from last year's Mi Smart Band 6. For reference, Xiaomi launched the latter for €45.99, but the Mi Smart Band 6 has since dropped below its MSRP at many retailers. Alternatively, Xiaomi is offering the Smart Band 7 at €49.99, but only for Early Bird orders. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not provided any additional details about this Early Bird offer, other than that the Smart Band 7 is orderable in Western Europe from today.
