Xiaomi has revealed the Band 7, a fitness tracker that it will sell in China with and without NFC. Incidentally, the inclusion of an NFC module adds 0.3 g to the Band 7's weight, which weighs 13.5 g by default. Regardless, both versions measure 46.5 x 20.7 x 12.25 mm and have a 1.62-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 192 x 490 pixels.
Additionally, the large panel outputs at up to 500 nits and is covered by 2.5D tempered glass. According to Xiaomi, both models come with a 180 mAh battery that takes approximately 2 hours to recharge fully. Purportedly, the fitness tracker will last up to 14 days of 'typical use', an estimate that Xiaomi drops to 9 days with 'heavy use'. Unfortunately, neither model contains a GPS module, although there are optical heart rate and blood oxygen sensors.
Moreover, Xiaomi pre-installs over 100 watch dials, 120 exercise modes and numerous first-party applications. At launch, the Band 7 retails for CNY 239 (~US$36), while the NFC edition comes in at CNY 279 (~US$42). Although Xiaomi's marketing images show the Band 7 in several colours, the company only offers the standard model in black, blue and pink finishes. In comparison, the Band 7 NFC is limited to a sole black colourway.
