After launching the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro in China and bringing them over to the global market months later, Xiaomi already has its sights set on the successors to those devices, with the Xiaomi 13 series now making its first appearance yet.
As revealed by Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi 13 series has now made its first appearance on Xiaomi's IMEI database, proving that the company is already working on the phones. Reportedly, the Xiaomi 13 bears the model numbers "221113C" and "221113G" for the Chinese and global models respectively; ditto the Xiaomi 13 Pro with "2210132C" and "2210132G".
The source reckons that those numbers mean a November debut is on the cards. Xiaomi released both the Mi 11 and Xiaomi 12 in December, so a November release would be ahead of typical schedule. There may be legs to that theory as well. The Xiaomi 13 series will be powered by Qualcomm's next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and that chipset is rumored to launch earlier than is usual this year. Xiaomi leads the line of Qualcomm's flagship chipset adoption, and it'd be logical if the Xiaomi 13 phones debuted earlier than usual as a result.
