Xiaomi 13 series projected to land with choices of flat or curved displays with new bezel-shrinking technology
According to the latest leaks, Xiaomi is currently rushing to make the 13 series one of the first (if not the first) Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Android flagship smartphones on Earth. They have been rumored to retain the curved displays of their predecessors, whereas some other OEMs have gone with the flat-screen trend instead, even in their latest high-end models.
Now, however, Digital Chat Station claims to have found out that Xiaomi is in fact going with a non-curved display in one new flagship, the vanilla 13 perhaps. Both it and its alternative 8 Gen 2 (or SM8550) -based counterpart are also now tipped to be "narrow" (or have a relatively high aspect-ratio) and to have centrally-oriented punch-holes for selfie cameras (again).
Nevertheless, these prospective 13 and 13 Pro models may appeal to those in the market for a new premium mobile device with their 2K resolutions, backed up with "eye-dimming" and LTPO delivered by a "new substrate", a phrase that might hint at Samsung E5 technology, if not something newer.
Finally Xiaomi is said to have made progress with its 13-series bezels, thought to have been refined relative to the 12 series. This, according to Digital Chat Station, is due to the packaging process being used on the upcoming premium "MIUI 14" devices.
