Early Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro builds signify mid-Q4 2022 release

Xiaomiui has discovered more references to the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, seen previously on IMEI databases as 2211133C/2211133G and 2210132C/2210132G, respectively. For reference, the presence of 'C' and 'G' model numbers implies that Xiaomi is testing Chinese and global models simultaneously.

According to Xiaomiui, Xiaomi has assigned 'nuwa' as the Xiaomi 13's codename, also known as Nüwa. For reference, Nüwa is the mother goddess of Chinese mythology. Similarly, the Xiaomi 13 Pro carries the codename 'fuxi', named after China's first emperor. While these codenames are not necessarily significant in of themselves, Xiaomiui asserts they reflect Xiaomi's ambitions for the Xiaomi 13 series.

Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi is testing the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro with Android 13 versions of the MIUI. Xiaomiui adds that Xiaomi began testing Xiaomi 13 builds in May, a month earlier than initial Xiaomi 12 series builds arrived last year. Xiaomiui highlights that Xiaomi 13 series model numbers suggest that both devices in November too, compared to December with the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. Presumably, a November release date will only apply to Chinese variants; it took Xiaomi three months to bring the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro to market globally.
