Xiaomi Mijia Sleeping Wake-up Light launches with 198 LEDs
The Xiaomi Mijia Sleeping Wake-up Light is now crowdfunding on the Xiaomi Mall platform in China. The device can help you get to sleep and wake up using sound and lighting simulating sunrise or sunset.
The lamp contains full spectrum beads that produce light similar to natural sunlight, with 198 LEDs in total. The device has a light temperature range from 1800 to 4000 K. You can choose from ten dynamic scenes and 15 types of white noise to help you relax, including waves and birdsong. Amber lighting at night mimics sunset to help increase your melatonin levels, and the light can slowly brighten over half an hour to wake you up naturally.
Xiaomi also suggests that you could use the device for yoga, with a meditation mode to guide your breathing. Buttons on the device enable you to adjust the brightness and select scenes and modes, plus the light can automatically switch between modes based on the time of day. Alternatively, you can control the device via the Mijia app, which also allows you to link the gadget with other smart home devices.
The gadget measures 235 x 159 x 70 mm (~9.3 x 6.3 x 2.8-in) and weighs 1.1 kg (~38.8 oz). You can pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Sleeping Wake-up Light in China for 549 yuan (~US$82). The price will increase after this presale period to 599 yuan (~US$89). It is currently unclear whether or when this device could reach other markets.
