The SwitchBot Lock has been unveiled, a gadget that turns regular locks into smart locks. The device is compatible with many locks, such as the Kwikset Cylinder Deadbolt or Baldwin Single Cylinder. You can open the lock remotely via Bluetooth with your smartphone, Apple Watch or using a SwitchBot NFC tag.
Alternatively, you can control the gadget with voice commands via Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. A weatherproof smart KeyPad and KeyPad Touch, the which includes a fingerprint scanner, are optional accessories that provide more ways to unlock your door.
You can manually operate the lock in emergencies and even use your old key. The gadget has an auto-locking feature and is powered by two CR123A 3V batteries, which provide around six months of battery life. The company claims that the device is easy to install via a sticker on the back of the gadget.
