Could the Xiaomi 13 ship without a power brick in the box? According to the latest leak associated with the supposedly upcoming Android device, it might as well, because it won't be charging any faster than its 12-series predecessor.
A Chinese regulator has now approved a device called the Xiaomi 2211133C for sale. This model number, linked to the vanilla 13 in an earlier leak, has been certified to charge at no faster than 67W in this new leak. 3C has apparently verified this function using the MDY-12-EF, which is - you guessed it - the local version of Xiaomi's 67W adapter for USB type-C mobile devices.
As disappointing as this new indication of stagnation at the top for Xiaomi mobile tech is, it dovetails all too nicely with an analogous leak for the 13 Pro. In addition, it currently looks like the Redmi K60 series intends to follow a similar pattern.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 is also reportedly destined for a design overhaul with rear cameras that are larger (physically, at least) compared to those of its forebear, not to mention an enlarged display driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
In addition, it still stands to charge faster from a wall socket than its rivals such as the Pixel 7; also, there is nothing to say it will not reprise the impressive 50W wireless charging speeds (not to mention 10W reverse wireless charging) from the 12 as well.
Get ready for the Xiaomi 13 launch with a 12, complete with charger, from Amazon.
